ChoirThe choir of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church has been singing at church services, weddings, baptisms, and funerals since 1950. An a cappella group, the choir sings a variety of Orthodox music from American, Arabic, Byzantine, Russian, and Serbian origins. We have also sung locally, regionally and nationally in both civic settings and divine services. Christmas caroling at the local hospitals and nursing homes has been one of our favorite activities. The choir has won many competitions over the years.
The purpose of the choir is to lead the congregation in prayer, enhance the beauty of the liturgical services, and to give glory to God.
Some of the original members are still singing with us. But new members are always welcome. Rehearsals are typically held on Tuesdays and, when needed, for special occasions. Please join us, for as Saint Augustine said, “Those who sing pray twice.”
